1. Data controller

2. Personal data we process

Depending on how you use SpotOn Energy, we may process account and contact details such as your name, email address and sign-in information; app and device information such as app version, operating system, device type, IP address and diagnostic data; support requests and attachments; and service data needed to operate the app, such as connected devices, schedules, settings and usage events created in the app.

If you do not use a particular feature, data associated with that feature may not be relevant and may therefore not be processed.

3. Why we process personal data

We use personal data to provide and operate SpotOn Energy, maintain account access, synchronise and manage app features, respond to support requests, troubleshoot technical problems, improve reliability and security, communicate important service information and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal data.

4. Legal basis

We process personal data where necessary to perform our contract with you, including providing SpotOn Energy and its core features. We also process data where necessary for our legitimate interests, including protecting the service, preventing misuse, providing support and improving the app. In some cases, we process data to comply with legal obligations such as accounting or regulatory requirements.

Where a feature relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. This does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal.

5. Sharing personal data

We may share personal data with service providers that help us operate SpotOn Energy, including infrastructure, authentication, customer support, payment, diagnostic and crash-reporting providers. They may process data only on our instructions and for the services they provide to us.

We may also share data where required by law, to protect our rights, or as part of a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.

6. Transfers outside the EU/EEA

If personal data is transferred outside the EU or EEA, we use appropriate safeguards to keep it protected, such as an adequacy decision or approved contractual safeguards where required.

7. Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy. Account and service data is normally retained while your account is active, support correspondence for as long as needed to handle the matter and maintain reasonable records, and certain payment, accounting or security data for longer where required by law or legitimate business needs.

8. Your rights

9. Complaints

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the app, our practices or legal requirements. The latest version is always published on this page together with the date shown above.
